Hallmarking and Precious Metals

At Katherine Neale Jewellery, each piece is individually handmade using precious metals including sterling silver and 9ct gold.

UK hallmarking provides independent assurance that precious metals meet the legal standards of fineness. Where a piece exceeds the statutory exemption weight, it will be independently tested and hallmarked by a UK Assay Office before being offered for sale.

A UK hallmark identifies the precious metal and its fineness and includes marks identifying the maker or sponsor and the Assay Office responsible for testing and hallmarking the piece.
